Does have flaws? Sure. Some plot twists are ludicrous. Marissa’s endless suffering is exhausting. But the heart is so big, the characters so real, and the music so perfect that you don’t care.

The dynamic between Ryan and Seth is the emotional engine of the season: the stoic, action-oriented protector and the verbose, dreamy idealist. Together, they form a complete person, learning that being a man in Newport requires both the strength to fight and the courage to express one’s true self. Marissa’s endless suffering is exhausting
