The project aims to document every instance where a Church Father quotes or refers to a biblical verse. This massive undertaking covers both Western and Eastern Christian texts from Late Antiquity through the early Middle Ages.
Unlike a modern commentary that tells you what a verse means, the Biblia Patristica tells you who used that verse and where to find it in their original works. For example, if you are studying John 1:1, the Biblia Patristica will instantly tell you that Irenaeus cited it in Against Heresies , that Tertullian referenced it in Against Praxeas , and that Origen used it in his Commentary on John .
