Born on June 12, 1946, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, SPB began his musical journey at a young age. He started singing on radio and television, eventually making his debut as a playback singer in the 1960s. Over the years, he worked with prominent music directors, including Ilaiyaraaja, M.V. Vishnu, and K.V. Mahadevan, among others.
